Stuck in a Rut

(Long sleeve shirt: Target, Lace shirt: Maurices, Scarf: Old Navy, Jeans: Old Navy, Boots: Target, Purse: Thrifted)
I should really be starting this five page paper due next week. But I'm caught up on all the work for my other classes and Fridays are part of the weekend for me so motivation is at an all time low. Not to mention that the paper is for an online Music of World Cultures class and isn't due until Friday at 11pm next week. So basically, you'll probably find me writing the entire paper the day of.
Sometimes you just need to procrastinate. It's what college is all about these days.
Anyway, this outfit was just something I threw together to go to the grocery store because I have absolutely nothing else to do today (ignore the paper). This lace shirt used to be my back up during summer if nothing was looking good that day. I wore this baby far too many times. Well, I'll be honest and say that I haven't felt like I looked great at all this week. I've tried my best to pick out nice outfits but I always ended up dissatisfied and feeling pretty badly about myself. So today, after having the same problem, I decided to pull this baby out to see if it still had the charm it seemed to have all summer. Unfortunately, I still felt very "blah" in it. Let's hope this rut doesn't last much longer.
What do you do to get yourself out of these ruts?

  1. i LOVE your shirts!! <3 always cute!!

  2. Purge my wardrobe until every single item left is one I absolutely love or wear all the time! Then if my new wardrobe is now lacking, I purchase a couple of new "have-to-have" pieces and I feel much better about outfit choices :)

    1. Great idea! I did order some new warm weather purchases so hopefully those will help! :)
