Legs for days.

skirt: Forever 21, hoodie: borrowed, vest: thrifted, flats: Mix No. 6

Long time no outfit post! I'm just terrible at coming up with new outfits recently so I've avoided documenting them.
Can we talk for a second about dresses and skirts?
I'm a huge fan of dresses and skirts.
Not having to put on pants? Total plus.
Keeping cool in crazy hot Arizona? Another major plus.
BUT, then there's the huge issue of length. I'm 5'8" so a bit taller than your average lady but not by tons. I cannot even begin to tell you how frustrating it is to try to find dresses and skirts that don't show my butt. For example, this skirt. Absolutely love it but if it were to ride up even the tiniest bit, my butt would be showing. It's terrible. I just recently ordered the most beautiful dress online and when it arrived, I discovered it was a long shirt on me. Keep in mind, this is even with checking to make sure the length was past 34 inches. Ridiculous.
So, do you ladies and gentleman have any good suggestions for stores that actually have dresses that will cover my butt?
Please and thank you.

  1. Pencil skirts usually aren't crazy short!! If you just went for the skirts that aren't already short on other people, you probably wouldn't be having this problem!! :)

    1. I'm talking about more of a casual skirt or dress but trust me, if you put this skirt on a girl that was 5'5", it would be a good length on her.

  2. Love your outfit! Wish Usually I just find long enough dresses and skirts from digging around in stores.

  3. girl, i'm short and i totally have this same problem. they assume that anyone is an xs is also 4'8" or something. being 5'3" this makes most things too short. i feel ya lady.

i have yet to find a solution. i try and buy a size up, but then it falls off.
i also try to go to more mature stores to avoid teens type stores.

  4. I completely understand where you are coming from, I'm 5'8 as well, so I'm considered tall. I usually go to Old Navy now for casual dresses or skirts. They're perfect length, even though everyone else complains theyre too long! Ya right!
Perfect for us taller girls! hehe

I say our height is perfect, plus everything looks better on a taller girl. :) New follower!
